February Favorites

Hi ladies! This is my very first Favorites blog! I'm excited because I do have a few things I loved in the month of February. Hoping to have more for this month so we will see. Anyway, let's get started...

Okay, so my first favorite is my Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation. This is just the perfect color for me and it doesn't look cakey and it is pretty buildable. Next one is my Instant Age Rewind Concealer by Maybelline. This has just been my fave concealer. Great for under eye dark circles and also to cover up blemishes and spots. Next is my Emjoi Epil/Slim shaver. I do have the big one for my legs, but I bought a smaller one to use for my underarm. It's been working great and my skin just feels smooth. Next is my beauty blender. I have been using this with my Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation and it has been giving me an airbrush look and very easy to use. This one on the picture is a new one.. because the one I have been using is dirty and I accidentally ripped the top part of it from washing it so hard to clean it. Lol :)

On my next sets of favorites - Alcohol Free Stridex Pads, this has just helped me with my break outs. It just dries them up faster than what I was using before. Special thanks to my friend Roma because she's the one that told me about this product :) Next is the Vaseline Cocoa Butter - I use this on my lips everyday. Its very moisturizing and I just love the scent to it. I really wanted to get the tiny tub that they have but they only had it for the original vaseline so I bought it anyway and took out the original out and replaced it with the cocoa butter vaseline. For some reason, the original one in the tiny tub had a weird taste to it. Next you've seen on my haul.. My Alex and Ani bracelets! Been loving these.. I wear them all the time! They are just too cute! Last and final favorite for the month is my sideway cross bracelet. Another special thanks to my friend Roma! She got this for me for Christmas (just recently got it that's why it's in my February favorites) and I just love dainty pieces like this. So crazy how I have been wanting one and she read my mind :)

So there you go ladies.. Hope you enjoyed my February Favorites! Any questions/comments, please write below :) Bye!

Mini Haul

Wanted to post a small haul for you guys today. As you can see, I have been posting quite a few things on here. Let's just say I am motivated :) Plus I haven't really posted anything for awhile now. I guess I just accumulated a few things to post on here. Okay so back to the haul.. It's not a very big haul - let's call it a mini. Just a few things I have collected within the few weeks that has passed.. from fashion, jewelry, and make-up.

Here's a cute top I got at our PX here. I really like the color combination of the neon and beige. The back has a scoop so it shows a little of your back. It also has the long tails on both sides and it's a hi-low top. The brand is Poof.

Next one - more tops! I don't know what it is, but I was just attracted to these type of tops - the sleeveless with collar tops and chiffon. I guess it is somewhat of a trend and I just can't wait until Spring! Although here in Germany, it's still really cold during Spring! :( Anyway, on the left is just a pastel pink with black collar by Ali & Kris. The one on the right is just a plain green collared top. It is a hi-low type top and I just loved the gold buttons on it. It is also by Ali & Kris. Oh, I also bought both of these at our PX. That is why I am not very familiar with the brands.

I bought this cross sleeveless top at a local store here in Germany called New Yorker. It's a pretty cute store.. lots of cute clothing and accessories! I just liked this top because of the cross in the front and I believe there were other colors, but the gray was a better choice for me. The boots were bought at the PX. They are Steve Madden boots. The original price was a little too much for me, but found out that it was half off so I had to get them. It was a great deal! Plus, I was able to find almost the same type of boots for my daughter so we match. Lol :)

So with all the rave on arm candies, I jumped on the band wagon. Lol :) They are cute and I am just loving bracelets right now. Heard about Alex and Ani bracelets from a beauty guru on youtube and of course I had to find them online. They have their own website, which is Alex and Ani. But I ended up buying mine at ZeeBerry because I found a coupon code online. Anyway, I have been wearing these bracelets ever since I bought them. I just love them and thinking about getting one more :)

Here's the rest of the stuff - A pink Hello Kitty watch with diamonds around it and of course, Hello Kitty's face inside which you probably can't see because of my lighting. Sorry. Isn't it super cute? I love it! Really love anything Hello Kitty :) The make-up brand Catrice (from Germany) just came to one of the stores close by. I used to have to travel about 20-25 minutes to go get this brand. I wanted to try one of their mascara. This has a small brush for my lower eyelash. Next is the Garnier Skin Renew Dark Spot Corrector. Heard about this on Allure online and thought I could give it a try. I do have some blemishes from past and present break outs. Let's see if it works! And the last and final haul is the Manhattan Gel Eyeliner in brown. I didn't buy this to use as an eyeliner, but for my eyebrows. Seen a tutorial on youtube on using a gel eyeliner with a brush to define your brow. Tried it a couple of times and I'm liking it. I just need to learn on how to tone it down a little. I guess I'm just not used to using a gel eyeliner on my brows. This is also a German brand make-up.

Well that concludes my haul. More to come in the future! If you have any questions or comments, please leave it below. Until next time :)

Cooking with Carree :)

Hi ladies! Ok so my posts are kind of late. Anyway, lately I have been trying some new recipes and I wanted to share them with you. I got these recipes from my sister and one of them is actually a favorite of mine, a Filipino dish using Shrimp paste. I know a lot of people haven't tried shrimp paste or maybe they have tried it before and don't like it. It's an acquired taste, but I love it. So the first recipe I tried is a salmon recipe. I don't really know a lot of seafood recipes because I grew up not learning any, but I love me some seafood! So I was excited to get this one from my sister! Made it and it was yummy! Here is a picture of the end product. Not a very great picture but believe me it was yummy!

If you want to try this recipe, click here and here for the recipe! Enjoy!

The other recipe I tried is called Binagoongang Baboy or Pork cooked with Shrimp Paste. This is something I never tried cooking myself, but it is what I eat whenever I go home to the Philippines. Anyway, the turn out was great! The only thing I would've changed was added eggplant in it. I will definitely do that next time :)

Not very appealing.. lol, but if you want to try this recipe, click here. Enjoy and if any of you try the recipes, please leave a comment and let me know how it turned out! Thanks!

February Workshop

So I had a Stampin' Up! workshop on February 23. I actually had it here in my house and I was excited! Of course, I was able to see the same scrapbooking buddies and it was a lot of fun! The theme was Easter so we made some Easter baskets! I was so excited that I wasn't able to take any pictures.. boo :( Plus, the ladies traveled for 3 hours due to snow so we were kind of short in time. I wanted to share some pictures of some goodies the ladies brought me! Thanks again ladies for coming and visiting me. I had lots of fun!

Aren't they the sweetest! Thanks ladies :)

Leche Flan

So I finally tried making the Filipino dessert Leche Flan. I bought the "lanyera" which is the mold we use to cook the leche flan in from the Philippines when I went on vacation for the holidays. The recipe wasn't so complicated until I started making the caramelized sugar. Tell me why I was waiting for it to caramelize for hours! I don't know what I was doing wrong, but it wouldn't turn dark brown on me. It just got hard! I ever tried making it twice thinking I turned up the heat too high. Anyway, I cooked it without the sugar turning brown. To my surprise the leche flan itself came out so yummy! I really need to learn how to caramelize the sugar. Someone help me! Lol :) I got the ingredients from a link, http://panlasangpinoy.com/2009/07/02/leche-flan/. Didn't really copy the directions, just the ingredients. I used a pan to try and caramelize the sugar and I cooked the leche flan in my electric steamer. Here is a picture of how it turned out.

I will make sure to perfect this sooner or later. Wish me luck! :)

Peach & Gold

Since it's been a fad that ladies have been polishing their ring finger a different color from the rest of their nails, I thought I'd try it out too. The one that I have been seeing a lot of is the use of bright colors and then one glitter nail. In this process, I also learned a tutorial for a DIY glitter nails. Here is the link of the tutorial if you're interested: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VoK-C-av0ag. I decided to use bright peach and gold glitters by Martha Stewart. Make sure when you do glitter nails, to use the small glitters and not the big ones. They stick better. Here is the picture of my nails.
